Nothing represents Republican old guard politics like Thom Tillis. Last month, Thom had Karl Rove come to North Carolina to raise funds for his Senate campaign. Now Thom is having Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham help him at a Washington, D.C. fundraiser. I respect Mr. Tillis’ political acumen and his successes against Governor Bev. But he is clearly out of touch with the people and their outright disdain for politics as usual. Smoke filled rooms where greed and power outweigh our children’s Liberty must stop. Rove, McConnell and Graham represent the evil that permeates the leadership of the Republican Party. I wonder when McCain will slither out and support Thom’s campaign. Show me your friends and I will tell you who you are.

I thought Thom was smarter than this. At least he kept Skippy Stam under control for a short period of time. I believe the good people of North Carolina are smart enough to vote for Dr. Greg Brannon instead of voting for a well-financed campaign that will support the Republican elite in Washington.

Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., are also slated to attend, according to an updated invitation sent out Monday and obtained by the Washington Examiner.

Thursday’s breakfast event will be at the home of Geoffrey Gray, a lobbyist who has represented Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, among additional interests in banking, financial and other sectors. The event is $500 to $1,000 per head and up to $2,500 for political action committees.
